Are newly registered users to Joomla supposed to be automatically added to the default group in Raid Planner? If so this functionality isn’t active on my install.

I am currently using phpbb3 to register all accounts and using p8pbb3 to bridge the accounts to Joomla; so if a user creates an account in phpbb3 the same user is created simultaneously in Joomla. Perhaps this is having an effect?

    Any ideas chaps?

To make this works, you have to enable view_calendar property for the Guest group, since Default group take effect once the user reaches the calendar page.
I know this is a bit confusing, and I’ll fix this in the next version, but until that time please enable the ‘view_calendar’ permission for guest, and check if works.

Thanks for the reply. I deleted the original Guests group like a fool to make things a bit neater. I have created another group named “Guests” but the function as described above does not work. Is this because the ID of the group is not correct?

Make a new group called “Guest” (no quotes, and no s at the end) and it will work.

Hey there, creating the group “Guest” worked in that it correctly identified the group, meaning I cannot assign users to it in the backend and guests to the site can now view calendars.

However newly registered users are still not being upgraded automatically to the default registered group when going to the calendar page, in fact when a newly registered member tries to view the calendar page an “access denied” message comes up, I think because the logged in newly registered member is not part of any raid planner group.

I can add any new accounts to the registered group by hand and just wait for an update, no biggie. Great extension by the way!

Grant view_calendar permission to Guest group.

It’s a bug, I’ve fixed this in latest release.
Default group is used, if a registered user is not a member of any group. Thanks for the report.
