Help with Character assignment mode

Hello,

I’m having a few problems setting up the Character assignment mode for the raidplanner roster. I have followed the instructions on your community builder page but haven’t had any success.

I have added a Text Field call “Characters” into Tab: User Status  with CB Field Manager.
I have gone into CB -> Plugin Management -> Raidplanner Plugin, and changed the character field to “Characters”.
The text field does appear in the user profile settings, but doesn’t link website users to characters in the roster.

Also, in the instructions it says to separate character names in the characters text field with a newline character, what do I need to put in exactly.

Which version of Joomla are you using?
If you are using a text field, users can enter their characters by name manually. If you use the rpcharactersfield type field, users can select characters (and if privilege granted, they also can edit their own character).
That field is there to provide the possibily for users to assign character to their own accounts, not for link to roster.
As Raid signup is character based, the system has to know, which character is assigned to a user.
So in case of text field, the following should be there:

Gimli
Legolas
Gandlaf

(each in a separate line)
In that case those 3 characters in the guild will be connected to that user.
